Baby Driver’s Opening Scene: A Script Review

“Baby Driver” by Edgar Wright is an excellent example of the best of screenwriting, especially that which utilizes music to drive the story. The opening sequence uses the song “Bellbottoms” by the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion in an innovative, dynamic, and visually and auditorily striking way that captures the audience’s attention and gives us the first impression of the film’s main character, introducing us to the vital importance of music in Baby’s life.
